清水 潤子（しみず じゅんこ）
ハンター／カフェ店主
1971年、新潟県長岡市出身。介護士として児童福祉施設で働いていたが、末期ガンを患ったことで離職。自宅療養のさなか、気晴らしに愛知県豊田市の中山間地域での米作り体験に参加したことで、獣害についての地元民との会話がきっかけとなり、狩猟免許を取得。有害鳥獣駆除に従事するようになる。
現在、ハンターとして有害鳥獣駆除をしながら、ジビエ料理を提供するカフェのオーナーも務める。
『輝く女性ソーシャルビジネスプランコンテストあいち2018』にて愛知県知事賞、愛知県信用保証協会賞をW受賞。
Junko Shimizu
Hunter / Restaurant owner
Born in Nagaoka city, Niigata, Japan, in 1971. When Junko was working at a child welfare facility as a caregiver, she was forced to resign due to terminal cancer. During her home recuperation period, she participated into a rice-making workshop in a mountainous area of Toyota, Aichi, and a conversation with local people about the crop damages by wild animals triggered and inspired her to acquire a hunting license. Since then, she is not only a hunter involved in harmful birds, and animals control actions, but also the owner of a wild game dish cuisine restaurant.
Prized for both Aichi Prefectural Governor’s Award and Aichi Credit Guarantee Association Award at “Aichi Shining Women’s Social Business Plan Contest 2018”.

Serious crop damage by wild boars and deers has been one of the major social problems in mountainous areas in Japan. These animals come from abandoned mountains down to villages looking for food. Junko Shimizu found out how serious the damages that old farmers face, and decided to become a hunter. She shares what to see, worry, and feel as a hunter.
